Gender Identification
Baby sexing / baby gender ultrasound scan from 16-28 weeks
Gender Scan
Sexing or Gender ultrasound scans are performed to determine the sex (or gender) of the baby. These ultrasound scans can be performed anytime from 16-28 weeks. The results are not 100% reliable; this is because it depends if the genitalia can easily be seen and this depends on the position in which the baby is lying. If we cannot get a good image we may ask you to move around for a short time to help change the position in which your baby is lying. The sexing or gender scan is done trans-abdominally (across your tummy). A partially full bladder is needed for this type of scan.
During your scan we will inform you of the findings and following your scan we will give you your images and email your report to you. Please be aware that if your pregnancy is not progressing as planned or if an abnormality is detected during the scan, the results will be discussed with you immediately following your scan and a plan of action advised.
Please note: Our scans do not replace the routine NHS monitoring scans but are provided as a service for additional reassurance.
Gender Blood Test (From 6 weeks)
BlueorPink is the most accurate Early Gender Test performed in the UK, with 99.9% accuracy. An Early Gender Test identifies the gender of an unborn baby, in the early stages of pregnancy (from 6 weeks). It detects X or Y chromosomes from the fetal DNA found in a maternal blood sample. If the expectant mother’s blood has Male i.e., Y chromosomes, it's a boy. If it has X chromosomes, it's a girl.
The BlueorPink Early Gender Test is only valid for singleton pregnancies. Test is not advised in case of a demised fetus or vanishing twin. The test can be performed from 6 weeks into pregnancy. It is processed in UK Laboratory. You will receive your result, via email, within 72 hours, once samples reach the lab.
If the results of your gender DNA test do not match the sex of your new born at birth, you are entitled to a 100% refund of the amount paid to Concepto Diagnostics Limited. If the results of your gender DNA test are determined to be inaccurate by ultrasound or any other prenatal test, you must wait until birth to initiate a refund.
Illumina or Panorama Non-invasive Prenatal Test
Both tests are non-invasive DNA screening tests that can tell you important information about your pregnancy, as early as nine/ten weeks of gestation. Both tests are able to find out the likelihood of your baby having a chromosomal abnormality. Both tests can also distinguish gender.
